Re: More car boot stuff.. what are they?
Most boot sales,or the ones I go to anyway, are full of sort of "semi-pro" dealers now-a-days, who "sort of" know the value of Star Wars & other old action figures & try to charge high prices for old tat most of us would dispose of in the recycle bin..
I've also stopped going as it was the same faces week in-week out & someone got it into their head that I was a proffesional dealer, & kept telling other stall holders to "watch out for this guy"..I wouldn't mind but A: I'm not a dealer & B: I don't look anything like bloody LoveJoy or David effing Dickinson..

I think Dickinson got his big break cuz a friend of his (who was in the t.v. buisiness) saw his likeness to Lovejoy..
Both of them have more hair than I..as I'm going a bit thin on top,but as a mate once told me, "still @ least going bald isn't painfull".

Hey,
Some (not all mind) of the Gobots are pretty good,I like that sort of Matchbox toy car feeling they have..what I really like about them is the fact that Bandai stuck to their guns & kept producing the toys out of good qaulity materials, using die-cast parts & real rubber tyres, long after Hasbro had started cost cutting with cheap plastic parts. They're simple & well crafted toys if you look @ them with a open mind.
Don't get me wrong I love the early Transformers (I stuck with the U.K. comic right from the beginning all the to the last issue), but didn't buy any more of the toys about half way through the 3rd year as, in my eyes the toys just stopped looking like real trucks & cars, turning into strange plastic looking "stuff", take the Jump starters for instance, Jet fire & Shockwave are super cool looking toys, but then Takara didn't have anything to do with the designs.
I wish the Gobots hadn't changed their brand name from Machine-Robo & had been sold in the same nice little Matcbox style boxes as the Japanese one's had been..The stupid names & poor marketing Tonka came up with didn't help either.
This site has lots of good stuff about Gobot's,as well as Transformers & other toy robot lines,& the guy does good & honest reviews of the toys whatever series or line they're from: http://counter-x.net/index.php
I've only got one Rock-lord,but in my defence, it was part of a job lot, & in really top notch condition.
