Blood for the Baron!

Here's the result!
it hasn't turnt out too bad at all if you look at the previous pic.
So after soaking it in WD40 for a day and a bit i then took it out ran a sink of hot soapy (fairy) water then chucked it all in,
got a soft brillo pad and went to work took a little while but got there in the end,
there's still a few specks on the dinghy and the pad slightly scratched the divers back piece but other than that its all back to how it should be.

I've also posted pics of whats left from my Action Man Space Gear,
when i was younger i used to keep all my Action Man stuff in an ice cream tub and eventually it ended up in the loft as i got older.
When i opened it up all that was left from the space outfit is pictured below,
for any of you that havn't seen the spaceman gear it was a kind of light blue jumpsuit made from a type of rubber material which over time in the loft completely disintegrated and all im left with now is pictured below.

That's worked out really well. Amazing what a bit of perserverance will do.

I'm impressed..did that treatment soften the plastic in any way?

P.s. if you ever want to get rid of the space ranger bits please let me know.

no it didn't soften it at all, but im afraid the space ranger bits wont be going as these Action Man bits are about the only things i have left from my childhood after my parents sold all my star wars stuff, but whose to say i wont change my mind dont worry i wont be selling them any time soon, do you have a spare space suit?......

I wish!..no I've got a talking Space Ranger captain, but looking to put normal Ranger together like I had as a kid..

is that an original or the re-issue?

All original..including the flag..now that was a very lucky find @ a local boot sale around 8-9 years ago.

nice one! how much did you get it for? it looks like that suit pictured is made of a material rather than rubber ?

I can't really remember..the suit is made from material, it's been one of them outfits that taken me ages to put together so it's prob' cost me a lot more than it's worth, the flag was found in a big bag of old A.m bits,a lot of witch were traded with other collectors.
Are you going to see if you can make up a full Space Ranger? Youv'e already got all the hard to find bits & they made lt blue material space suit that lasts a lot better than the rubber romper one, & i.m.h.o looks better any way.

it would be nice to get the original rubber one that i had when i was younger but if one doesnt come along anytime soon then i think i will wait but might possibly sell if my quest is not possible...
