the 25th figures have great accessories, but look fugly to me. I've got no interest in them.

I've been adding to my collection of old 80s Joes and AF, but strictly on a 'damn, i always wanted that one as a kid' basis or a 'Damn, why did I never have any enemy AFs or a or figure?' and 'Dammit, I wanted the Commander!' basis.

That's why I've spent about £100 in the past three months on stuff.

i do agree with LJ about kids today and kids in years to come, as well. they'll probably reckon today's stuff is crap.

I completely agree, I deliberately stopped buying new comics about six years ago because I far prefer travelling hundreds of miles and sifting for treasure at conventions than regularly collecting my reserved order from the newsagent.

im different from you guys, when i look @ toys all i se is customs & ways to make stuff better!
some stuff i buy just coz it looks cool & im starting to collect old joes & af, but all ive been collecting until recently was frank kozik toys & art.
will post some pics of some of my collection soon, just unpacking stuff after the studio revamp.
my wife bought me a cobra rattler for my birthday, will soon be red with the pilot renamed red wolf!

I started collecting the 25th figures when they first came out. I'll agree that the possablility of them could be improved and the fact the some struggle to hold their weapons is a pain.

But for me GI Joe was always about more than the toys it was the whole concept. I loved reading the comics, watching the videos and creating my own stories with the toys.

Perhaps with the 25th I turned more into a more of a buyer than a collector, and with the availability of them I pretty much been able to fulfill my army building urge that I couldn't do when I was a kid.

Just the ones I like, really, but preferentially those who featured in the MAF comics (for example I'm army building the red mask classic Cobra figures)

Absolutely agree 100%. I also have the benefit that AF was never sold in Aussie and GI Joe is not that popular so I've never seen most of them. Here's my recent rush list.

Wolverine and Hyena from Steve, man they are still the pride of my fleet. The Wolverine is a marvel to behold and I never get sick of looking at it. Claymore re-enactment under way...

Parts from Andy and Paul, DIY Action Force, BLOODY AWESOME.

Z Force Quarrel and Rapid Fire Motorcycle from the Baron, first (and only) Z vehicle, but damn Quarrel is hot and a cool bike to boot Not to mention a Triad and Cosmic Cruiser with half the bits missing. I'm on a repair mission and have nearly completed a Satellite Defence, 1 down 2 to go.

Millennium Falcon for Xmas. What's to say, its just fraking cool.

MOC Aquatrooper from Paul463, I can see what gets MOC collectors off now, once the loose guys are complete.......

And finally, repairing all the GI Joes I decimated as a kid. Only about 6 figures left to repair, so satisfying putting them back on the shelves complete after 25 years. With thanks to Dave in that department too.

Oh and speaking of Dave, seeing my sons face when he opened a package full of Clone Troopers was a huge highlight, it was like looking in a mirror from 1977. The little guy insists on opening all parcels that arrive now. Gotta be quick these days....

Its all the thrill of the hunt.

for me the 25th figs got me back into gijoe which in turn got me back into action force.
snake eyes commando was my first 25th fig and is still my favourite.
i dont have easy access to the 25th figs and have to buy off ebay and due to lack of funds and the sh*tty exchange rate its a real treat for me to get new toys. i get the buzz when the parcel arrives but once i get the fig it goes in a box.
have been trying to get my den sorted for a couple of years but every time i clear some space the missus fills it with her junk.
cant wait to display all my collections, thats when i'll get the real buzz.
some of my toys have lived in boxes now for 15 years and i cant wait to free them
