this sounds "wrong" but the Baron's suggestion to use "ROTTING FLESH" paid off !
the colour seems very close to the original, although the original is in shadow and my photograph is slightly over-exposed.
I have included a side by side pic to compare.

Just thinking out aloud..but as Airfix was owned Palitoy around this time, would the the designers of used airfix paints for prototypes or did they use a special range of pantone colours?

the legs and body parts appear to be molded in that colour, no idea about the paints tho ?
they are not standard issue action force colours, which dosnt help with the ID of this guy.

Hey, I was right! Cool.
I have to say it, shouldn't his rocket logo be the same red as his pouches?

I need to get myself a pot of gore red which is darker than the blood red i have used.
the pouches appear to be the same red as the logo, this figure is still work in progress.

Andy, there's a terracotta coloured foundation paint I always use for thinner coats of red that's worth trying to mix in in small amounts for better coverage

Thanks for the top tip ! however I am currently waiting for some Warhammer Red gore, which I think is a bit darker. I will try and post my results midweek.
