More interesting, though, is this.

When the Action Force toyline became Cobra-fied, and BAF changed, so did the fanclub address - the Langley Street address continued for a while, but sometime around August 1985, the fanclub address switched to:

Duke
Action Force Recruitment Centre
2 Cater Road
Bistol
BS13 7TW

Now, I have to say, this is step down from Georgian Splendor and mid-Victorian intrigue...
What would Munro-Deighton make of this?
Needless to say he read the writing on the wall and left before the bloody colonials arrived. He probably retired to somewhere lovely in the Cotswolds, and spent his days drinking whiskey and reminiscing.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the magnificence of the Action Force Recruitment Centre in the Cobra era; a finer metaphor was never found.

Maybe it's a front for the secret underground bunker base?

35 floors going straight down, miles of corridor, labs and firing ranges...

And now, continuing the AF HQ related high-jinks, Dr Hopper proudly presents, a multi-national tour of the HQs of a multi-national fighting force.
(all addresses are as given on cardbacks, etc.)

To begin, then, Belgium.
Belgian Action Force HQ was located in the capital city, Brussels at:
Chaussee de Jette 518 1090.
This is the French language address - the same address, but in Dutch, is given for those wacky Belgians who speak Dutch:
Jette Steenweg 518 1090.
Interestingly, this curious linguistic apartheid I have experienced first hand whilst struggling to order food in bad French, only to be told in slightly offended terms that "we do not speak French here, only Dutch or English". What would Munroe-Deighton made of that!
Whatever the language, the HQ building looked like this. An oddly unassuming building, ready to spring into action the moment terror strikes. And wait... hang on a minute! That classic motor on the right, just hidden from sight. That HAS to be Munroe-Deighton's, complete with glove-box bar and decanter set. Perhaps Action Force is not as inactive as we have assumed? Is something afoot in these dangerous times?

Italian Action Force could be contaced via their cover, Giannitoys S.r.l. at:
Il Comandante, Via Montecatini 15, 20144, Milano.
The building is a suitably drab concrete affair, innocuous and innocent looking, exactly like all the others in this quarter of the bustling city. In short, a perfect HQ.
Note the Action Force mopeds parked out front... clearly budgets have been cut since Quarrel's day!

The German ATT HQ was based in Rodgau, a small town c.15km south east of Frankfurt.
To join, one had to send a application to a PO box here:
Postfach 300 140, 6054 Rodgau 3.
I have been unable to locate precisely where this is, but there are number of industrial estates in the area, and any one of these could have served as a secret HQ.
