V&A picture
Re: V&A picture
Yes, that's the one... It has to be!
It certainly does look like they've conflated two or more descriptions - one Action Force, one Action Man.
And given that there is an inflatable dinghy at the bottom of the above photograph, perhaps there is loads more going on in that photograph, and we are seeing only a cropped portion of it! Maybe there are divers and paratroops also.

Re: V&A picture
How in the name of great Zeus's holy cock and balls have I never seen that M.F. picture before?
I mean, really. What the actual frick is wrong with me?
*hangs head in shame*
That's the one. But where did it come from, and for what purpose was it built?

Wow.
This is pretty amazing stuff.
But yes, cringeworthy reading - as a lot of the descriptions are way off. I sometimes forget that our is a *ahem* niche interest.
Also, having worked in museums for many years, often the people entering information have absolutely no idea what they are describing - leading to bizarre and amusing descriptions. My own personal favourite - a box of Bronze Age pottery that had the phrase "God Only Knows" written in the 'description of contents' section.
lol which museum was this in?

Re: V&A picture
Have a vague memory that it was in the Museum of Childhood, possibly with a different set up, more figures etc., all part of the gift from Palitoy after factory closure. also there used to be another photo floating around pre-crash. Might have a dig around.Hopper wrote:How in the name of great Zeus's holy cock and balls have I never seen that M.F. picture before?

Re: V&A picture
Not a V&A official picture but home made and inspired by them all (apologies if considered hijacking thread as couldn't find a previous post for custom scenery pics)
Re: V&A picture
ah yes the Dioramas forum, sorry I wasn't registered before so hadn't been able to view it and completely forgot. There's some truly amazing pics! I will have to up my game now, as plenty more scenes to do.
