I was a member and I definitely never received this as a part of the kit (I kept everything AF related neat in a file!)
In fact, I have the envelope in which it was posted to me, which tells me that I joined up on the 10 May 1984 (been a member for just over 30 years - 22098 still operational... just)
This is right slap bang in the middle of Phase 2B (2.2/Second Shadow) so theoretically, I should have got one.
But, membership packs at that time definitely weren't including the tape.
If Quickfire's memory is to be relied upon (and it's a big if... cordite and bully beef can play havoc with the cerebral cortex) then it was shortly afterwards that they began to include it (which may explain the delay in sending out your membership, Quickfire - low on stock, new supplies coming, we'll wait and give this kid a cool tape, etc.
So, sometime mid 1984 they became available as part of the membership pack.
