And I thought it was just me. I still haven't opened my mutons, Steve.

I've neglected this thread of late, after a promising start! Been away for a while (no, not jail!) but it shall resume soon.

In the meantime - just a taster to wet the appetite:-

Now, these little rascals shared a lot of their parts with other MEGO ranges at that time (very late 70's/early 80's) - especially the Black Hole range.

Only 9 in the set - 8 O ring and Twiki. There was, I'm told, meant to be a playset for them, but I've never seen one for sale so I suspect it was just a prototype.

Bizarrely - no space ships for them!! Which is crazy!!

I'm not sure if they were ever officially released in the UK, as all seem to show Mego on the cards that I have seen, whereas other ranges like Dukes or CHIPS were released by UK companies like Trafalgar toys or Ideal on UK cardbacks, but I've only ever seen these on US cardbacks and had to import all of mine from the US when putting this little lot together.

Hardest to get - definitely Twiki, Buck and Wilma. Whilst Twiki seems to command the highest price I think he is actually more common than Buck or Wilma - certainly seems to come along more often.

Ardella is most common in my opinion - always hanging around street corners drinking Mad Dog 20/20, chewing bubble gum and shouting swear words at passersby... whoops, sorry, got sidetracked there - she seems to come along quite regularly and only commands about £10 to £15. Others are more £15 to £20 range, with Buck, Wilma and Twiki more in the £50 and above range, but certainly Buck and Wilma dont come along that often these days it seems.

Bizarrely Buck and Wilma dont seem to suffer much from yellowing - perhaps Hasbro should have taken lessons from MEGO when it came to white plastic!!

Anyway, sorry thats a bit disjointed.

I suspect next selection for your viewing pleasure will be a step back a year or two from Buck Rogers to feature Flash Gordon. GORDONS ALIVE!!!!! (no, I never sold the set the other year there when I put them up for sale!)

PS - the Buck figure is actually quite a god likeness for Gil Gerard!
