Just realised that the 1:72 Airfix is from the first series Afrika Korps and 8th Army, not the second.
Are you an Airfix collector, or just happen to have those lying around?

I occasionally dabble with Airfix soldiers from time to time & am trying to obtain one example of each pose in 1:32nd scale.

I think I traded all of my HO/OO ones with a fellow collector a while back only keeping the U.S. for sentimental reasons. Which ones do you collect yourself?

Airfix and Matchbox
I don't do the models, but I do collect the soldiers (WWI and WWII only) and in both 1/32 and 1/72.
I've got a load of them, sadly boxed in the loft as I have no display space.

I'm going to make a thread of Airfix/Matchbox soldiers - most of the people on this forum would have played with them as kids, and we will all have some lying around, I'm sure.

Thanks & please do, not sure about non U.K. residents but, Air-Fix kits & soldiers must of been a part of every boys childhood.

Love that B/W shot, very atmospheric.

Didn't get chance today, but will dig 'em out tomorrow evening 1/71 & 1/32 - I'll even try with a T-Shot special action pose, or sumpfink.

I'm extremely pleased with how this one turned out a, long term project completed, 1:6th scale W.W.1 era British 'Tommy'.



The figure, who bears an uncanny resemblance to footballer turned actor Vinnie Jones, & basic uniform are from Sideshow Toys' Lewis Gunner set.

As much as I like the figure the original equipment he came issued with was appalling, so I've upgraded the webbing, putties & gasmask bag to the more authentically detailed items produced by D.I.D. Ltd. The .303 rifle's a fantastic scale model... it even has a moving bolt action.
