Shaunyboy wrote:Holy sh*t! The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase! Classic! I hope Virgil opened a can of whoop ass on him for treating him like a slave for all that time.
Ted was awesome in the 1990 Royal Rumble. Only the power of the Ultimate Warrior could eliminate him!
Ted is a classic WWF era heal. Man, I would have gone after all if I knew there was a chance of him getting me in a 'million dollar dream'! Brilliant stuff!
There will be a short translation made available on teletext for all you non WWE fans.
Well Shauny, technically he is now the "Million and Forty Nine Dollar, seventeen cents" Man after I gave him £30 for this signed photo and a signed copy of his Autobiography:-
And the beauty of it is, he was charging £15 for his autograph, and then £20 for his book (signed to you). But I haggled!!
As he was personally selling the books, after you'd already paid for his signature, I said
"would £15 be okay for the book!", to which he replied
"Steve, man, you drive a hard bargain - but okay!" I resisted the urge to laugh really loud and say
"everybody has a price for the Million Dollar Steve" as felt Christian or no Christian he might rough me up a bit....
Interesting that he prints tiny on each signature "Matt 16:26" - which is
"What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?" he clearly has repented his Million Dollar Man ways!
Sad thing is, even after haggling for his book I didn't have enough for Virgils autograph, but I did shake his hand and chat to him for a bit (he wasn't exactly inundated unfortunately!). He seems a really nice guy, and when I told him that I had no money left after buying Teds book he just laughed and said "typical!". Top bloke! Unlike Scott Hall, who looks only a few years away from getting 10 tolls on the ring bell - I overheard one of the organisers on his radio asking for someone to "come to escort Scott Hall back to his hotel room please as he says he's had enough". Translation - it's gone mid day and the bar is open. Sad. Very sad indeed.
On a happier note though my personal favourite from the Wrestling section was this:-
SteveD meets both Sunny and Dawn Marie!!!!! (please forgive the lack of Muton - my mind was not on

at that time)
Fair enough they are roughly 10 years past their best, but still worth it! (the dot on Dawn Maries head is from my scanner, not some unsightly growth!). Pleased to see Sunny looking so good after all of them years of "dealing with Demons".
Many a moment in the teenage life of young SteveD were spent imagining being sandwiched between those two, and here I am, aged 32, finally achieving it. Not quite in the way I originally had in mind, but I still had to have the smile surgically removed afterwards!
Anyway, back to toys......
