Action Force Convention
Re: Action Force Convention
Now we're talking! So rather than a colouring project reprint, better some B&W splash art and some crayons. We could maybe even make it a competition with a kiddies prize.

Re: Action Force Convention
It would be very cool, but my only worry is anything that is a giveaway or freebie needs to be financed from somewhere on top of the existing costs. The Baron wrote:I think catering to small kids is something to look at, maybe a goodie bag given out on the door. We could put the replica Ironblood mask in there, along with some sort of document or convention magazine. Something which quickly and neatly summarises the history of the range (without all the politics) with nice big pictures and possibly a BAF Colouring Project reprint?
The convention has to cover all aspects of Action Force, from Action Man to GI Joe and back.
I think what would work is offering a way that is self financed, ie. the 'happy meal' approach, that they pay a nominal amount and recieve the goodies. This could be done in the form of a 'Recruiting Station' and they join a club or pick sides for the day, ie Good Guys or Bad Guys, they get a name badge/ sticker to show what side they picked and during the day there are activites based for whichever side they are and the outcome of those tasks could determine who wins etc.
Dunno, mind is on a running away.

Re: Action Force Convention
If there is anything like that for the current GI JOE film, that could work, then it gives them somethign they relate to, plus also bringing in AF to the mix

Re: Action Force Convention
whilst i think using the colouring posters is a good idea, i reckon you should also have at least on Pallitoy image for the kiddies. i wanna see yellow Shads or green ones!

Re: Action Force Convention
Yeah, OK, a couple of quid to cover the costs then, available on the door.
If we're organising the kids into teams, then we need two different bags, one with the
mask, another with an
equivalent...
Oh hey, the SAS gasmask!
Or is it better to make one bag with the mask reversible?

OK, I'll give some thought to a set of splash art images.
Another cheaper option may be instead of giving away crayons to have a communal colouring table?
We could very easily use this as promotion for the BFTB Colouring Project.
