the violence level is probably on a par with Transformers 2 or Raiders. the bloke being dissolved is about the same as the melting Nazis in Raiders or the Soviet guy getting eaten by the ants in Kingdom.

bear in mind, though, that TF2's violence was largely CG-robot on CG-robot. this is human on human. has he seen The Mummy or Van Helsing? or the Pirates movies? it'd be roughly on a par with them, and they're the same rating in the UK...

it got 3/5 in the Daily Mirror. the reviewer said it'd appeal to the ten year old in everybody. and called it 'big dumb fun'.

I'd go and see on the big screen dude, purely because it's GI Joe in live action but it's not very good...infact chances are the more you know about GI Joe and the comics the more you'll dislike the film, Larry Hama handed them stories on a plate and they just kind of ignored all that :(

No offence but, seriously?? Even with my GI-Joe-worship-tinted-glasses on I couldn't give it even close to 8...

You're saying this was a near-perfect film for you?

Out of interest what other films do you class as 9's and 10's?

The way our crap excuse of cinemas work is if you get films of the same type like TF2 and ROC they will put on one not both so we got TF2 when it was out. This happened with a Blade film and Queen of the Damned we didn't get both. Also when we get the Harry Potter films they always run longer at the expense of missing out on other released films. If ROC is shown I want to see it over here but if not I will get the dvd.

I'm with you on this, I'm a total sucker for tack & cheese like License to Drive, Masters of the Universe through to stuff like Mortal Kombat and Punisher: War Zone but I don't know, this was a different kind of bad...like Time Cop bad or X-Men Origins: Wolverine or something. I am actually glad I went to see it though, seriously, if only to show support for a GI Joe film on the big screen.
