I just can't believe anyone would sell off the original artwork in pieces! Ugh! It should have been archived somewhere, like Marvel does with their old tales. They can reprint anything from the old days...
Butchery, scanning and copyrights...

The butchery gets worse. A lot of 1950's + 60's Dan Dare story art boards that were printed in the Eagle were hacked to bits to be reprinted in an abridged form (again in the Eagle). These boards (or even sections from them) now retail for thousands, in the 1980s you could get them for peanuts!
The Titan Dan Dare reprints as a result are also scanned. Quality of the work is a bit variable, but a lot of that is down to the resizing of the scanned image, and also due to the deterioration of the source material. I'd sooner have this than a 'restored' version though. Apparently Titan have recently lost the rights to produce the 2000AD reprints, and as such they are now looking for new markets, hence the Dan Dare and Charley's war reprints.
It seems that copyright for Charley's war at least still resides with Egmont, along with the other Battle characters/stories. The problem may be that the copyright for the Story and art for Action Force characters may be separate from the copyright for the Characters and Name.

I was stunned to see that all of the classic 2000AD centre spreads had the Dredd logo and credits box ripped away and reglued onto the following weeks' story. Tons of them just got pulped in the days before creators were allowed to put their name to the work. Shudder.

Man, that blows chunks! Maybe technology will be such that a good reprint can be taken from the comics that are out there...
At least, that's what I hope...

The more I think about it the more convinced I am that this will have to be a US venture, I can't see there being enough support for AF in the UK, the comic industry itself is in pretty poor shape these days.
I imagine the best place to find out about the rights would be
http://www.rebellion.co.uk/ the current publishers of 2000AD. If not they should be able to steer you in the right direction.
If there are any US publishers out there interested in this project then please, throw them my way, many of my scans will need to be replaced or at least tidied up but I'd certainly be up for it.
The hardback digest Operation Claymore!!! In full colour!!! Wah!!!

And according to Moose:
http://www.falconsquadron.sevenpennynig ... /intro.htm the deal was struck with Mattel, not Hasbro.

Don't worry... Mattel is a subsidary of Hasbro. They bought them up a few years back...

I have printed Showdown for the Shadows and school of snakes up on Poster paper and I am sitting here in Amazement on how awesome these are to actually hold in your hands.
I am asking myself , how in GODS NAME someone isnt reprinting these in color and hasnt collected them in a TPB
or why Devils Due isnt picking and choosing issues to print up sort of like back up issues because the quality of these are as good as anything I have seen done by any other comic book company
I didnt think it would come out as good to be honest but after using the universities printing machines that they use for posters and the proper paper it comes out beautiful.
These digital copies are more than adequate for reprinting and if you havent read these comics in color then you just havent read a BAF Comic until you do
I dont know if I am super sad or super happy about this.
Happy that is came out so amazing but sad that no one is reprinting these things
and of course I am just talking to myself again ( and the baron ) as the boards fans and supporters are not very active !
I wish I was in the US I would literally go to the convention and get a table to just show off what this stuff looks like when printed up on Poster paper, I am sure that if hasbro or DDP actually had a copy of these issues in color they would jump on these great great stories
