Best way to touch up the paint on a figure?

Yeah, I stupidly used my Plastikote clear lacquer spray over Humbrol enamel when I did my first Z Force Tomahawk. The whole thing blistered and bubbled instantly!

Then TKW stole my idea. And he won Custom of the Month for it too. Wanker.

I think I had that idea independently! Didnt i? Sure I did... I stole a couple of your other ideas but didnt finish them as they turned out to be a bit rubbish...

One thing tworth mentioning about Humbrol is im not sure how well it dries on softer plastics such as palitoy series 1 and 2. Ive tried it a few times and it can be hit and miss but I tend to steal other peoples Hasbro custom ideas.

I guess the best thing to do is maybe seek out a series 1 or 2 appendage that has no body, and try out some different paints. Perhaps I'll pick up one of the cheaper battered figures from Action-Supplies. Consider him a willing volunteer to Action Force Research and Development.

I find occasionally that on the softer plastic (series 1 & 2) the humbrol can stay slightly tacky. This maybe me not stirring it sufficiently but the satincote usually takes care of this. However I think I am going to invest in one of the little electric stirrers.
I was very impressed by the smooth finish on the SAS customs Andy did recently. He used a citadel black which I am pretty sure is acrylic.

Ive converted a cappucino frother thing to be a paint stirrer and it has improved things no end, no more tacky paint or satincote.

Thanks TKW you reminded me that I had to get one. I used to use that method when I was in Cyprus so I just ordered one off ebay. Definetley cheaper than the paint stirrers from Hobbycraft which are exactly the same as the Cappucino stirrer but about 3 times the price!
