the Cap movie is said to be book-ended with present day scenes with the majority set in WWII. Joe said you can't do Cap without starting him off in WWII. Rumours say the Howling Commandos - the unit Fury served with in 616 - will appear in some form and IIRC, Joe said the Invaders will appear, possibly 4 or 5 of them.

Hugo Weaving's playing Red Skull, Toby Jones (the Dream Lord in DW 'Amy's Choice') is playing Armin Zola, Hayley Atwell's playing Peg Carter, Chris Evans (the one from Fantastic 4, Push, The Losers et al) is Cap and some kid i never heard of is Bucky.

Joe said Cap gets shoved into a USO show as a propaganda tool after the scientist is killed - where we see the 616 style costume - and he gets fed up and goes AWOL and fights the Nazis wearing a different costume that he cobbles together - presumably the one seen here.
