I know what you are saying the cost of cases is a real eyewaterer. I just wish the UKG would pull their finger out and make better cases for a competitive price.SteveD wrote:Not yet - that's what I'm just trying to sort/price up. Having priced up the MOC acrylic cases though I suspect the plan is going on the back burner for a while - 8 large MOC custom cases, and a further 70 regular little cases and I'm not getting much change from a cool Grand! Plus postage and customs! They can stay un-encased for the time being!!

I have some of their thicker cases for my bsg figures and really like them too - whole back slides off so no risk of scraping the sides on way in. So if I could get some thinner ones off them I'd love it, but like you say - not looking like happening.

They're probably not what your looking for, but I used to use the Starcase clamshell cases. Not as nice as the acrylic ones, granted, but could maybe be a cheap short-term solution?

Re: Big MOC dimensions
I got an e-mail recently from Steve of UK Graders to say he was phasing out the thick MOC cases and they now have thinner boxes available. He hinted that he may be able to get the larger ones later in the year.

An interesting chat with another Star Wars collector who knows his stuff regarding chemicals told me if you plan on using them for vintage stuff make the ones you use don't have a triangle with a 3 on the back as they are not inert and could damage the cardboard and or plastic.the enemy muton wrote:They're probably not what your looking for, but I used to use the Starcase clamshell cases.
