So I took matters into my own hands, and started selling the scans myself to undercut him - I basically phrased my auction to mirror his and appear under the same search parameters, with an additional explanation of the circumstances, at a fraction of his price (ie cost).
lol
Ebay then closed all of my accounts for violating copyright law! I couldn't believe it.
Hmm, that is pretty rubbish.
Ah well, let's hope his CD writer explodes and writes off his PC while he's burning off another of his £4.99 copies

I wouldn't have a clue if this would be legal, or even viable, but has any thought be considered to creating an iphone/ipad app, or even being part of the ComiXology app?
Like I said, the amount of work, the legalality of the material in regards to copyright (although that maybe less of an issue, considering the reprints) and the format may prove to render the whole thing moot, but it would be interesting to know if there were any thoughts about moving to the digital market away from the website itself.

That is exactly what I wanted to do, but sadly the system was abused.

Bit of a shame really, because I think an iphone/ipad app may actually do more to combat people nicking scans and flogging them on ebay, especially with the digital comics market moving much more into the portable realm than the static one. I very, very rarely read comics on my laptop anymore, and by far the bulk of my comic reading takes place on the iphone (and ipad once I persuade Mrs Hod that it's in our boys "best interest". He may only be two, but its time he learnt about these things dammit. And PS3s.)
I think its a market that's only going to get bigger, and it may actually help the sales of the printed editions too.
But I also suppose with a bigger market comes a bigger likleyhood that people will abuse it too, so swings and roundabouts I suppose.

No arguments here, and I'm not ruling it out either.
Does thehodlet need a set of printed edition BAF books? You'll thank me later.

Oh I've been knocking around here for years, just never registered to the forum.
I loved the toys as a kid (not so much that I have any desire to own them anymore though) but used to adore the comics and I've a huge nerd hard on for British comics anyway, especially from the early to mid-80s which was when I originally read them.
I've read pretty much all the comics available here, some many times. I have to say that I'm not the biggest fan of the current reader in use, as I personally find it more difficult to read the material, but I fully understand and agree with why it was done.
I think the site is brilliant and along with the Johnny Red, Action and Scream! sites, its wonderful how well British comics are represented on the internet. I was a huge fan of Eagle and Tiger, and still have the couple of years worth of issues sitting up in the loft. I've often thought of scanning these in as some of the stories, (Doomlord, 13th Floor and Computer Warrior especially) were, and still are, brilliant reads. I would do that, if I had the ability, the hardware and any idea as to how to go about it, that is.

The hodlet would adore a printed set of BAF books.
MrsHod, on the other hand, may just withdraw certain priviledges, none the least including a bed, food and access to the house until I promised not to spend all our money on (quote) "rubbish" (unquote).
And whilst Rebellion are pumping out the Dredd Casefiles at such a rate, my birthdays and christmases are taken up with those, mores the pity.
But the reprinted editions are moving their way to the top of the list, slowly but surely.
