My first AM was from the 2000 Hasbro era, I have never seen neither VAM nor '90s AM in Chile, though the '90s cartoon was shown by TVN and Megavisión, so when I saw the Extreme Climber I bought him. I already had Max Steel and Psycho, so I kept the AM and Max Steel collections as one, even after getting Dr X.
Yup, I know that since it's the modern AM, it's a little off-topic, but the thread brought me those memories.

Memories are what it's all about!

Think my first one was the standard soldier figure also remember having the Capture Copter and Scorpion Tank too. Things were not always good when I was a kid but my mum always managed to get my brother and I lots of AM and then AF.

I lived in a rough rural area, only had a few good friends and was pretty isolated. AM (12" and 3.75") as well as Star Wars and Lego were what kept me occupied between blowing stuff up and shooting. Digging trenches in the back paddock for a good ole fashioned war was great fun. I also had the Dukw and Ferret. I miss those vehicles now but they went to a good kid.

I've still got one of my original doll's,well 1 made up of parts from @ least 3 I originaly owned as a kid..the only complete uniforms I've got from childhood are, S.A.S. trooper, M.P.(from the internationals range, I collected all the stars to post off for that one :-D ) & the R.A.F. fighter pilot..the rest have been pieced together from boot sales, toy fairs & the odd part from Fee-bay.

Did any one else here have the Capture Copter ?, I remember breaking mine :-(, I'm not a big collector of vehicles, but I would like to find a V.A.M Jeep like the one I got one xmas....not the most accurate model of a real Jeep ever, but I loved it as a young child. In fact if I ever win the lottery ( ) a W.W.2 Jeep is on the top of my "wish" list of cars..along with a Alvis Stalwart, a Triumph TR8 convertable....

this was my first and only Action Man and is mine from when i was younger,
Image

it was the only Action Man i ever had as my parents thought having 2 of the same thing was a waste of money, i did get some of the outfit packs so that was my way of having the different versions. had to use my other toys for the enemy, using robots etc...

That was the cool thing about the V.A.M, he could be any one & every one a young mind could think of..O.K he was very millitary based, & Palitoy sort of had some a fantasy story line & B.G in later years, what with Cpt Zargon & that time enemies stuff,

..but mostly, it was a toyline that was very open ended for play ideas.
