I have a complete collection - including all the variations that I know about (e.g. the 3 different mail away commanders, the 2 different German Storm Troopers, etc...)

Wait - that's not quite accurate -- I am still missing several of the German variation figures!!!

I am sure it is likely that there are variations out there that I don't know about, too-- but if I find out about them, I will be on 'em!

I am primarily a loose collector ('cause I like to mess with them and set them up and do dioramas). But I bought the vast majority of my stuff new on the card or in the box and I have saved all the packaging (the only packaging that I don't have is for the Recondo brown Silent Attack.. I'm looking, though :-)

I do still have a bunch of extra stuff MOC and MIB, but that's just cause I like the way they look - I'm not a completist when it comes to them. (and also the MIB and MOC stuff make good backgrounds for some of the pictures in the book I am writing)

I also have all the 12" Action Man counterparts (took me a year to find them all). I've got to tell you, the 12" stuff is awesome and extremely addictive!

Action Force rules!!!

AirDeven,
with the 12" stuff I have just found the joy of outfitting them not to be correct but to look cool, I'd love to post some pics , the commado and artic marine look excellent.

Did you pay much for the LRDG and SAS frogman as they are normally expensive

Jonathan,

The 3 variations are:

Red hat - chest variation A
Olive hat - chest variation A
Olive hat - chest variation B

I don't have the where-with-all to post pictures - but I'll send one to you directly (and if you would like to post it, that would be great)

So there seems to be 4 versions then, I've got images of:
Standard Version (Olive Coap Cover)

Standard Version (Red Cap Cover)

Variant Version (Red Cap Cover) - Uses Mission Pilot Body

A variant with the Tan Cap would be new

Steve,

No, I messed up (the memory's not what it used to be :-) The variations that you posted are the same ones I have - I just got the hat colors messed up. Sorry....

I just send a scan to Jonathan before I logged on here - but it looks like you've got it covered! Thanks!

Aire

No worries!

It seems that the Mission pilot body variant, is not that common, but that a fair number do exist.

Perhaps they were using up surplus mouldings?

This used to be common for the action man dolls that were given away free for the star scheme, they just used whatever they had surplus
