I love the new way we tend to grade films "contains three uses of foul language and one scene of prolonged distress". Stuff like that. Only problem is I tend to then get obsessed with finding the "one use of foul language" and it totally ruins the film for me, as I'm doing the cinematic equivelant of "Wheres Wally" rather than watching the film.
I'm hoping that we will eventually get so accurate that it is "contains one use of the word "f*ck", around the three minute mark, two uses of "arse" (17 minutes and 48 minutes) and a lass gets her norks out around the 32 minute mark (brief glimpse of nipple but nothing worth pausing the DVD for)" level of accuracy.

Norks
We could use the Aussie system. "She'll be right, mate". Works for everything.

don't get me started on the f'in MPAA and their idiotic way of rating movies...
although i did like the Tom Jane Punisher movie's 'Rated R for pervasive brutal violence'.

Yeah, I was looking for the Norks, Baron. None to be seen.
The ratings are difficult to judge, but what sh*ts me is the unnecessary sh*t they put in kids films to appeal to adults. Transformers 2 I haven't let my son see yet as I'm a bit unsure it wouldn't scare the crap out of him. Personally I think its down to sh*t writing. If they could make Star Wars watchable for young kids there is no reason why the stories couldn't be writen/edited to cover a broader age group rather than have a bit of meaningless wank talk or blood splatter that in the end does nothing for the story and usually is at the expense of the character's development.
Transformers was after my time and I never really got into it, but my son does. TV shows luck Buck Rogers or the original BSG, kids and adults can watch, and enjoy, them. Why is there such a shortage of films like that today? Lack of talent is my guess.
Rant over....
