I've still got the odd Toymaster bags hanging about, my fave's are the ones with the old Tamyia R/C cars printed on them.

we had a toymaster in weston super mare untill recently, but an ex-employee of theirs opened his own independent store and it's a cracking little shop, they cater for everyone from little kids toys to modellers stuff it's really good.

We could have moved to Weston no one but me liked it though so we ended up here instead

I worked for one of the biggest Toymaster members for about 12 years, was great fun but v v frustrating... The ones ive seen recently are obviously single shop members and have all been fantastic, very very similar to the toy shops I would visit when I was a kid...

Ours has more Transformers toys than anything else and absolutely no ROC figures or vehicles the closest are WP and the HM forces figures

It's good to know that Toys-r-Us haven't killed off all the smaller toys shops yet..

you get much better customer service in the independent shops which makes them all the better to go in for a peruse.

Yep I work for a small firm that's still family owned & run..we have to work harder on customer service to make up for the (slightly) higer prices than the massive stationers down the road, most customers seem to perfer that little bit of human touch that we try to provide..you know small things like remembering customer names & asking how they got on with items they purchased, or even asking how they are & sharing jokes.
What I like is the fact I can talk to the M.D. & share stories about comedy gigs or radio shows we've both been to..how many big companies employees can say they know the big boss's on first name terms?

when i left school i did a printing apprenticeship for a small firm i loved that job it was a laugh the bosses would go to the pub for a lunchtime beer it was a brilliant atmosphere, then sadly we were brought out buy an american investment company that changed the company completely, they increased our work load and staff levels went through the roof they changed the name of the company and ruined it all, it was so sad they eventually merged us with a printers in devon then closed us down..... wankers.
