the stuff your talking about is for use on canvases, with the kind of acrylics you get in tubes. the stuff you use on models is in liquid form.

If you are using water based acrylics them clean your brush with water !
I use citadel games workshop paints and after use all the brush needs is a quick tinkle in a glass of water... and a piece of toilet roll to dry afterwards !

using a spray primer, then spraying the base color & using a brush from there.

Humbrol paints are a nightmare SteveD I prefer to use Games Workshop's paints instead you don't need thinners for them which is a total blessing unless you like getting spaced out by the smell

i find the tamiya acrylics easier than humbrols + they smell less!

After a week of experiments I'm firmly on the side of acrylics for the jobs I'm doing now. They just suit my way of painting better. Currently working with Citadel stuff, but also have some Tamiya to try as it's cheaper and seems to have a better

colour match.

you need to really stir those tamiya acrylics, i find them ok but a lot of people seem to complain about them & i think it's just coz they dont stir them enough.

i meant to say tamiya enamels! i personaly prefer them to the humbrol, they smell less & seem to dry quicker, but i never use gloss!
