Im my 'universe' though, CC is the used American Car Salesman who created Cobra as per the US Marvel comics mythos....

That all said, I somehow don't think the Shads would EVER rejoin Ironblood if the UK mythos of CC deciding sod the Cobra Organisation and I'll recreate the Red Shadows as The Baron again.....

ahhh, but if black baron & co. were brainwashed by ironblood in the first place, then how hard would it really be......
if i do do this, im not gonna name him baron ironblood.
this storyline makes my shadow army way more fun to build, i can basically bring any cobra stuff on-board!
hey, it's all just fiction & toys!

p.s. my shadow fighter is nearing completion, painted it red & thought it was too bright (want a stealthy look but keeping it red) so re-painted it & ran out of paint! had to wait to get more the same colour, should get the painting finished tomorrow, then i'll sort out the decals & post it.

The retrun of Baron Ironblood, in a hopefully realistic way, is the overall arc in my Action Force diorama series.

Cobra Commander is, to me, a traditional and very volatile baddie - in his position due to wealth and money, blackmails and extortion.

Ironblood is more cerebral - he'd not be used by Destro, he'd be three steps ahead. Ironblood is nastier - he'd notice you, not just kill you, and his inflated view of himself is based on his privileged background. Ironblood gets his job done as much by behind-the-scenes manipulation as brute force...

In my story, there'sthousands of Cobra but a scant handful of Shadows, and they will be able to hold their own....

I think the way BAF did it was pretty good. Especially considering what was happening. I think what happened was Ironblood went a bit fruity and that's why he became Cobra Commander. That's also why he's not as on the ball as he was earlier.

The Black Baron is a pretty cool idea. I never considered the Shads evolving, but why not?

The way I see it, prompted mostly by doing the Datafiles and catalogues, BAF is canon and Marvel UK should be considered before GI joe. I also consider GI Joe to be the US domestic wing of Action Force, and Action Force being global.

Larry Hama always gave the Cobra soldiers more individual personality's in the G.I.Joe comics than the Shadows had in the english comics, who are portrayed as mind washed canon fodder.. to me the :baron: was more of a mad Davros like megalomaniac scientist type villian with a personal army, the (Larry Hama) :cobracommander: a oily businessman/ politician with a well trained mercenary force in his pocket

that being said, ironblood coming to his senses & re-taking control of his brainwashed shadows makes sense! he can be the commander & the major can be promoted to baron!

You, know I'd be tempted to have the body as above with decals, but the Ned Kelly Ironblood mask - either of your own making, or the vintage one. The other designs above just aren't quite different enough - the hooded design exists, whilst the faceplate one is 98% Red Laser...
Hows this?!

I quite liked the red hooded commander, interesting twist on an existing figure! Incidentally the Mao picture is cool, although it was our Friend Stalin who was much more favourable of white jackets, Mao copied his style later on, but was generally more muted.
