having every figure with the same face?

Yep, its completely ridiculous!

It shows a large degree of laziness by the designers.

It would never happen nowadays.

But its what makes Action Force Action Force.

......And I love it! Wouldn't have it any other way.

:doc: :doc: :doc:

One thing to remember is that the original "Action force" was based on "action man"

Action man (with the rare exception) was the same doll with different uniforms.

So perhaps the creation of the forces showed some laziness, however the first and second series were true to the Action man concept.

Exactly they had the same face with the scar just like Action Man but I don't think it was laziness but more of keeping in line of them being little Action Men.

P.s. Paul Figs on his way :-)

you put /quote not quote in the first [].

i prefer the Joe figures for their articulation, but only the ones from like '82 to '92. the more modern stuff looks horrendous.

Im my opinion any modern figure is exactly that ! Modern crap !

too much articulation and no nostalgia value.

The original concept/look has been lost and replaced with modern crap !

The whole point of my collection is stuff I remember from childhood.
for me it's a mix of the two, i can appreciate some of the older figures but i have to paint crap figures for my work, so i wanna customise & paint stuff i like in my spare time, the new stuff is more fun!

Fixed. And I would've gotten away with it if it wasn't for that pesky Sundance.

I think you could pick out terrible and excellent figures from any year, though I do think the modern figure lines have their fair share of pegwarmers. For those not into later figures than AF I can imagine these are not very desirable, but for MOC collectors the nostalgia stems from the card art and then there's the army builders and customisers.

I used to be a bit of an 82-86 guy but more recently have started to appreciate alot of figures from the 89-94 range like alley vipers and headhunters.

Some of those are very weird! Who's the Aqua and Purple coloured guy - looks a bit like a Spiderman villain - Mysterio I think?
