I'm likely to be pretty critical though, boys. If it isn't a home run I'll be disappointed.
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

Re: First Sample of the New IDW Action Man comic!
I've read the first issue (issue 2 out next week) and it's ok. Not mind blowing but a decent enough story, plenty of action and the art's not bad. It's on par with the other IDW series I've read. It's certainly not "a return to the original idea of Action Man" as promised in ROM #0, it's a definite continuation of the 1990s Action Man vs Dr. X storyline.

i have now read it and I do enjoy it. Would like to see some familiar faces from past iterations of Action man when it fits instead of new characters and all but still, it was pretty good. Id like to read more

Action Man's role in the expanded IDW/Hasbro universe continues to grow in wake of REVOLUTION with REVOLUTIONARIES. Launching this December.

Re: First Sample of the New IDW Action Man comic!
Read issues 2 and 3 of Action Man yesterday and I'm really enjoying it. Nice little twist at the end of issue 3.
I also read the first 2 issues of ROM and that's pretty good too. GI Joe are already in it and Countdown has been infected by the Dire Wraiths (ROM's enemies). The actions of the Transformers that are shown in Revolution #0 are hinted at too.
It does feel a bit like the Action Man story is being rushed a little so they can fit in the Revolution storyline but I'm happy to be proved wrong.

That is what I thought too. It is a tad rushed, not bad, I'd obviously prefer more of a nod to VAM of old. I think ROM is better so far though.

I know it's rushed, but given the slow pace of other comicbooks nowadays, it's a breath of fresh air.
I wonder if the cyborg scientist is a new character or the modern version of either Dr X or Gangrene. He kinda reminds me to Dr X at the beginning of the Mainframe series.

Preview for issue four of ACTION MAN. Details on the origin of Doctor X V2. Was expecting something along the lines of the Mainframe CGI series.

And the action continues for Ian Noble in REVOLUTION#1.
