It needs to have some sort of modern era tinkering, the last time it was released on VHS as "Digitally re-mastered" was back in 94 (If my memory serves me), I'm pretty sure that the WS version had no crazy cropping (Like the new Blu rays). Hopefully it'll be that version.
On an alternative note, has anyone seen adywans Star Wars: Revisited??? Definately worth downloading and giving it a go.

I have it on AVCHD, Graham. Its pretty sweet. Not the 77 release, but sweet.

I'm sure Disney know what people want. They'll probably release the original theatical editions remastered in HD, complete with Han shooting first. Then again, with Disney being a family-friendly company, maybe not in the case of Han. I'll be happy as long as there's no singing cgi in Jaba's palace.

Was rather hoping Obi Wan Skywalker would be living monastically in one of the stone beehive cells to set up the usual chain of events from the off, albeit from the Cathedral of the Atlantic instead of the usual sandpit. But seems a few more home comforts were in order rather than the glorious stirring of the senses and fecund motion of the soul associated with a basic sort of life and the rejection of poisonous inhibition, that sort of thing.

Those pics look awesome. Maybe Abrams will get it right? Nah.
On the subject of 4k, I couldn't wait to get Star Wars on blu ray, same on DVD. I don't think that's an issue but I won't go out and buy it again in the same format. I don't own the Lucas released unaltered letterboxed OT. I prefer the better quality bootlegs.
