Devils Due RED SHADOWS STORY
Hmm gotta say I found it a bit boring! Leaving aside the whole "true" Red Shadows thing there's precious little action and way too much unnecessary dialogue for my tastes. Couple that with not having a clue what's going on in the background and it kinda passed me by.
That said it does have it's moments and may well evolve into something decent. A swift bit of retconning could easily bring it in line with the existing mythology - I'd give almost anything to see the Black Major back in action.
I can see why the GI Joe community as a whole didn't take to it - I won't give anything away for those yet to read it but I do have one question: is the character Tracker from the prologue the Z Force character or a regular Joe?

Oh good you got it! I was thinking about that today and was wanting to know what you thought
as for the tracker character .--------------as much as id like to say he is the same tracker, they do have different file card names, Birthplaces, and toys.........................that is unless for some reason he was working under a differentr alias in the UK on a top secret basis with Action Force,,,,hmmmmmmmmmm ( this is what I do personally ! ) not that I dont like the character but I just like to see connections/continuity being made
I agree with you that with some quick retconning or fixing they could easily fit it into / connect it more too, existing Red Shadow mythology. I think Vaughn would make a great BARON IRON BLOOD, and would be so happy to see him named that. We never knew much about Baron Iron Bloods origins and so I think Vaughns origins would make a nice Baron Iron Blood Origin , What do you think? I also thought Artur Kulik would make the Ideal Red Jackal as well too. I think naming these two characters these code names would be a nice fit.
I think the Characters that DDP did make up were good, and great and I do want to see them return, just with familar code names and with some more characters that we do know of from the past. Alot of people are calling for them to be killed off, not brought back or something and I think that would be a mistake. Making Vaughn and Joseph Colton connected, all of the sudden makes Colton and interesting and much needed character, where before you were like " why is he around"? I like that the two leaders are connected and I think its comic gold now.
Looking at the overwhelming positive response across the internet to the new creative team on the Joe Book. I think the new writer would do the Red Shadows Justice, and I wouldnt be suprised to see the BLACK MAJOR and Red Laser return as well too when the new writer does take them on. I think if he does then this book will mean a whole lot more, standing alone , your right in that it leaves much to be desired, but when they return this book will mean more, especially when the new team takes them on.
I just hope it is soon as I really want to see them done again and done right.

and oh ya I also thought the story suffered a little by being too short too. I Think it really needed at least 1 ( but would have liked 2 ) more regular sized issues to really make it the right size, and making it with mostly action ( wich was a little lacking as you said ) would have been the nice
