what type of acrylic is it? white spirit worked on GW paints for me - it didnt remove all but enough of the f*ck up for me to paint over...

Mainly Tamiya acrylic mate but also looking for something that will remove Plastikote but not damage the plastic.

plastikote is a bugger to get off. white spirit does the trick to a point but it doesnt work too well on detail. ive ruined many a custom trying to get it off but successfully stripped and resprayed a few as well.

it isnt the wing parts I sent is it? that is the one custom I had to work and rework so it might have a few layers already

No I might be better off just spraying them black. I might try Tamiya acrylic thinners. I've pm'ed Ross to see if he has any ideas as well.

Read in one of my model magazines lst night that Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner will do the job (well on planes anyway). Will post the details later today after I have had some sleep! 35 munites to go!!!!

is it specifically mr muscle? looking forward to hering if this works, I tried using a cheaper brand oven cleaner a few weeks back and it did nothing though it wasnt that effective at cleaning the oven.

Just read the article again. It was Mr Muscle he used but it was with enamel paints (not sure if that will make a difference with acrylics or not. He put the model in a plastic bag, sprayed a liberal coat of it on the model and left it sealed in the bag for a few hours. Once this was complete he used an old tooth brush with soap and water to clean it up. Hope that helps a wee bit.
