I had a similar plan for a Space Shadow, only I was going to use Muton limbs - push came to shove and I couldn't bring myself to hack up a Kraken. My backup plan was to then use the Kraken head and limbs with an Ironblood torso for a Kraken Commander.

Which figures are too special to chop up?

Post by paulitoy »

Its a bit off topic, Baron, but you bring up a very interesting point, which is - 'which figures can't you ever bring yourself to chop up?'

I totally agree on the Kracken. Even though Daz's figure looks great, my Kracken's are just too precious to me to lose one to the chopping board! Also could never butcher a Red Wolf - far too sacred to me.

What's all the other customiser's thoughts....

I hacked up a Red Wolf, I so badly wanted to use the arms for a Red Vulture - but I did wait until I found one cheap on eBay.

I'm now facing a similar dilemma of hacking up a Night Patrol fig to put his limbs onto the Red Wolf remains, I'm hanging on to find one with a damaged head or torso. Black Wolf is currently sporting an SAS canoeist limbs, but they're not quite right...

Actually it's the boots that bug me the most. He's lost his bulk.

Well, it looks like I'll have to rethink my views on red wolf. I feel a 'black wolf' will have to be joining my enemy ranks pretty soon! Off to ebay to find a red wolf then...
