Tips needed on Camo painting
I have decided as some of the Oktober Guard namely Daina and Volga are very hard to come by I will try to get a Bombstrike figure for Daina minus her hat and a lady Jaye for Volga next year. On YoJoe it shows Volga is just a repainted Lady Jaye to the point of having the same equipment she is in camo fatigues can someone give tips on how to paint a camo pattern thanks. Here is Volga

On a small item like a figure I think the only thing you can do is blow the picture up large to be able to see to copy it properly and use a good fine tip brush. Thats what I did for my custom figures with camo.

Find the predominant colour for the base and do that first.
Then find the other colours and paint them one at a time in random shapes.
The one issue I did find was that if you take the figure apart to paint it, when it is screwed back together the
pattern doesn`t match properly.
Probably best to put the leg and torso sections together for finishing the seams.
Classic example of this mistake is here

Thanks guys. I'm not comfortable with taking apart a figure and being able to put it together as good as it was though. I am thinking of getting an anniversary issued Jaye to use as Volga rather than use my ARAH one.

Not sure if it'll wokr on figures, but there's the blu-tack technique recommended in the panini comic. Paint the light colour first, cover it in blu-tack splots, paint the darker colour, repeat for each colour and then remove all the blu-tack. I've not tested it myself...

Bombstrike is hard to come by loose but I bought an Agent helix today which may be another good base figure for Daina again she has no hat but that isn't too important.
Here is Daina's figure

Well, Daina changed her hat for a skullcap later, and didn't wear any headgear inside the ship when the Oktober Guard helped the G.I. Joe Star Brigade (outside the ship, she wore a helmet), so making a hatless Daina/Vorona is okay.

That's great to know DA I have been painting her just now, the undercoat wasn't going over smoothly so it doesn't look wonderful.
