It does look like it's going to be pretty cool though...
Last time I traveled to Leicester I stayed at the Sky Plaza Hotel; I don't think I could ever go through that experience again

Yes, as it's where the toys were created I'm hoping local interest will be high. With luck we'll get some veterans with tales to tell coming along.

Love the use of the word veteran. lol!! So you want some crazy old man with a beard and bits of Palitoy AF stuck in it and paint under his fingernails recounting tales of old? I can imagine that "Back in the old days we didn't have no namby pamby artic-U-lation we had straight limbed figures at least not at first. Yessir working in the old Palitoy mines was a tough job not for steers and queers".

My aunt used to work for Cascelloid's, the original parent company of Palitoy.. but sadly, not on the toy side of things she worked on the prodution line for tooth paste caps or some such everyday mundane item.

Not a very interesing story that one, I'm afraid, but it's the only link I've got to the great Palitoy story.

Now one of my work collegues 1st job was checking delivery & depatch for the factory who produced the Matchbox Race 'n' Chase sets, & I also worked with a lady who had once been employed by the toy company Ideal as a secretary in their marketing dept'.
More news, as its made, from new Action Force!

Response from Leics Record Office to an email I sent on Friday:
Dear Annie,
The main part of the exhibibition consists of 8 panels telling the story of Palitoy and its parent company in Leicester. There are however, two display cabinets which contain a variey of toys. Included are two Action dolls: Action Girl c1970 and Panzer Captain, c1974-1984. There are also the boxes for SAS Underwater Attack. c1978-1984 and SAS Silent Attack, c1982- 1985 and Action Force Water Moccasin. The exhibition was originally devised for Snibston Discovery Park and has since toured most of the county museums so your members may well have caught the exhibition already. However, all are welcome to view the exhibition in our reception foyer and as far as I can see there would be no problems with taking photographs.

I hope that this helps
Jess
