Yep, echo that, both the general idea and store aspect. Top Trumps disappeared for a little while then re-appeared with a vengeance. My kids love 'em, as I did. One 9 year old at this end that will be overjoyed if these things appear sometime late December.

Top Trumps can still be played with the cards as they currently appear, but I admit I'd love to see a full set for Series 2 and would be honored to contribute in any small way.

The cards do have a CCG look to them but that just makes them differ altogether from Top Trumps and with it's different layout and stats can't be said to be a rip-off version. I would love to have a pack of these.

The card layout is based on the Dr Who Alien Armies cards. The game can be played as a basic Top Trumps but the problem is that for most of us there aren't people willing to play so the idea developed into making a single player set of games. I have some hopefully great ideas for some quick and fun games and might be able to make a wargame/strategy game using this system

With top trumps, we can do that for wave 2. I'd do the template and the card if people did the stats and what we could do for the pic is a scene from the comics

GAME: TOP TRUMPS

1. Each player starts with a randomly selected set of cards. These are shuffled in a pack and placed face down.

2. Each player picks up their first card

3. Each player says their Battle Action score. The player with the highest score gains the losing card off their opponent, placing both his and theirs to the bottom of their pile.

4. That winning player then gets to choose the category for each subsequent turn - either 'Attack', 'Defense' or 'Strategy'. The winner keeps both cards (adding to the bottom of their pile) and gets to choose the next category.

5. In the event of a tie, the card with the highest 'Battle Action' winds. If these draw then the round is forfeit and two fresh cards are used, the players keeping their own cards.

GAME: BATTLE ACTION FIVE

1. Each player chooses 5 cards (Note: I will be boosting each 'team' to five cards so that the 5 selected can be 'shadows' or 'joes' or 'sas' etc)

2. The player, in secret, chooses his 'fighting order' and places them face down in front of him.

3. His opponent* chooses his fighting order and faces them face down in front of him - each of his cards opposite each of the opponents

4. There are five rounds. Toss a coin to be the attacking army for the five face-off rounds, then for the next five alternate.

5. The 'attacker' turns a card face up and the opponent turns over the paired card from his line.

6. The attacker rolls 2 dice (D6) and adds the score to his card's 'attack' rating.

7. The defender rolls 2 dice (D6) and adds the score to his 'defence' rating.

8. The highest score 'wins' that round. In the event of a tie the 'Battle Action' score is compared to see who has the highest (I have weighted these according to characters - Snake Eyes and the Baron have 10 so can't lose a tie breaker)

9. The attacker is the same person for the remaining 4 battles and repeats the steps.

10. When all five face-off battles are done, the winning team is the one who has won the most battles.

Single player variation.

In this game the rules are the same, except the 5 opposing cards are shuffled and allocated randomly, and the single player can choose to be either the attacker ('Red Shadows assault the SAS base') or defender ('Cobra defend their island from Z Force')

Other ideas

'Defenders bias' - the defenders gain an automatic addition to their scores of +2 as they are in their concrete bunkers.

'Attacker's bias' - the attackers have a +2 advantage as they have attacked with the element of surprise.

It might be better to decide beforehand the order of play (ie start with the card on player one's far right) so that people can choose where to play their strongest cards - at the start or the end or the middle, and what will your opponent choose???)

GAME: SNAKE EYES KUMITE SURVIVAL

Single Player

1. The player has the Snake Eyes card

2. 10 randomly selected cards are chosen face down in a pile

3. Snake Eyes faces off the first card.

4. The player rolls 2 dice and adds his attack score.

5. The player rolls 2 dice and adds the opposing card's attack score.

6. If Snake Eyes wins the opponent card is discarded...

7. If Snake Eyes loses it's Game Over...

8. As always the 'Battle Action' score is the tie breaker, but Snake Eyes will not likely lose. In the event of both 'Battle Action' scores being the same, the dice are cast again using the 'Attack' scores.

HOW MANY CARDS CAN YOU SURVIVE WITH SNAKE EYES?

Other variations...

a) AND FINALLY THERE IS MUTON!

With an attack score of 19 and a Battle Action score of 10, Muton is a tough opponent. In this version Muton is the eleventh and final card in the opposition pile.

b) THREE LIVES

Rather than sudden death, Snake Eyes has 3 lives.

c) THAT SLIPPERY BARON IRONBLOOD

Rather than Snake Eyes, the player has the Baron Ironblood card. However Ironblood, being a bit sneaky, can choose either 'Attack', 'Defence' or 'Strategy' as the category to do batlle with after both cards are face up. That slippery supervillain!!! Again both cards add two dice to their scores, and again the 'Battle Action' score is used in a tie breaker. However the Baron has a lower score than Snake Eyes...

d) Two player

Player 2 rolls the dice for the opposing cards, but still has to use 'attack' in the Snake Eyes game, and still has to let player one choose in the 'Ironblood' game.

The movie Cobra cards are much harder to do, partly because good stills of silver Destro and CC don't come up on Google...
