You have to wonder how late into product development it was that someone noticed the figure didn't have a hole in his back, so they came up with the ingenius elastic band idea.
And really, even that didn't work, as you had to put the pack on backwards.
Mind you - precedent already set for it with Series 1 pilots and their RAF issue elastic bands I guess.

my old summer job from uni I worked in a factory and the storeman there was exactly the same. And then I was put in charge of the stores when he went on holiday!
