palitoy arkives uncovered

Post by louie0316 »

i think ive uncovered a mountain instead of a mole hill as ive been looking at the arkives today at palitoys catologues for the shops and the original designs in 1982s catalogue are way off what we know as actionforce especially the series one kit ive also got several numbers and names to follow up from so i expect this to keep me busy also found out the price structure from 82 as well if only we could pay them prices now ill if theres any think specific someone wants to know just post a reply as ive got the benefit of living in leicester and hopefully being the home of palitoy can find something out

:eagle: right first snip it ive had
in 1982 after a sucessful action man range action force was born 9 figures then the three minuture playsets of us para AF7 and artic patrol the vehicles then consisted of AF3 & 5 which looked totally different in the official palitoy catalogue of 1982 these little guys sored to nearly a million figure sales in 6 months taking the market place by storm and contributing to 10% of the market place double the expectations of palitoy the dicision was then taken to support this line by the introduction of 5 additional teams HEAVY BRIGADE (Z FORCE) SAS THE ENEMY DEEP SEA TEAM (Q) AND SPACE TEAM which would hit the shops by APRIL acompanied by the support of a major advertisment scheme TV comics special stands distinctive packaging and special offers buy 3 get 1 free also the chance to join the action force club palitoy over the years had had there ups and downs especially towards the end of the 70s when jobs were lost during the christmas period and sadly in 1985 may 1st it was announced in the local press 327 jobs were to go as the coalville manufacturing plant was to shut due to the american owners general mills looking at installing new machinery to move more into the stuffed toy industry it was said palitoys demise was the over whelming sucess they had encountered through the previous years
