Joe Movie figures - First look

Post by Crimson Rage »

First look at some of the GI JOE Movie figures over at TOYARK

I think they look rather neat (the stands are pretty cool too!) - Apparently they're "M.A.R.S. Troops" , not yet Cobra troops. They certainly have an "Iron Grenadier" look to them. The large grey weapons look pretty crappy I admit, but the smaller weapons are way better and suggest that the crap ones are only temporary - I have plenty of spares to kit them out with if not!

I'll definately be army building a few of these guys. I hope the others in the line are as good!

Gotta agree with you Crimson, those "Rifles" are crap! I'll use the Mars troops as IG Recruits, and the "Viper" as a Jet Pack Trooper officer. Very nice figures, I hope most of the movie figures look this good.

They're a definite army builder for me!

Not sure whether to have them as entry level IGs and have the new 25A IGs as commando squads or have these as the baronesses private army :baroness: .

Either way if those guns don't change I'll be getting these:

Any guess as to what the price might be? £15-£20?

I'm liking the looks of those. I like the way they look, well, classic, rather than all big chests and bulging biceps. Helmets def look good for customs.

It might be me but because of some of the outfits the movie characters are wearing the breaker figure looks pretty cheap, almost like a joe knock off...

Interesting!

BREAKER needs accessories obviously, but even without them he looks good.
The BARONESS.... not too sure about that one. If they're going to change the head, at least get something that looks a little bit like Sienna Miller.

sorry I cant seem to share the enthusiasum for new figures, I much prefer the old style I remember from childhood.

I can appreciate some of the earlier repaints but these new fangled chaps dont do anything for me.

maybe im stuck in the eighties ?

Im sensing a star wars surge when the figures get redone that many times they become crap ?

I agree, re Joe's. However there has been a marked improvement in the quality of the Star Wars figures. Better articulation, more realistic features, more accurate weaponry, GIANT Falcons ;) I was going to get vintage figures to replace the ones I no longer have but after buying a couple of modern Stormtrooper's, its hard to justify. They really do look good. As far as living in the 80's I'm pretty hard to convince once my mind is set on something too. I'm sure I'll get a few more vintages in the future mind you.
