It's with a heavy heart that I relay the news that Hans Rudi Giger has died. He was 74.
It seems he'd recently suffered a bad fall, and simply never got over it.
He'll be missed by fans of art and of science fiction.
At least he'll no longer suffer from the nightmares and visions which inspired his great works.
