my first Action Man

Post by dsn1014 »

I've been curious lately about the Action Man figures and decided to take the plunge on some figures to see what the craic is with the whole 12" scale. Well it's fun!

Both are in a sorry state, but more than servicable to me. Goodness, Action Man likes to take his clothes off, there were none to be found clothed in the couple of markets that I tried, but I was prepared, my local Ken Black still had a couple of sets of accessories on their pegs on heavy discount, so I knew I could get him geared up again. I was just waiting for the right figure with enough articulation and no gimmicks to come along, quite a mission it turned out. I wish I had something a bit more military to dress him in, but I'm glad he's clothed now and wielding dual uzis.

The scale is cool, but I don't think I need any more than one example.

I beg to differ, a vintage Action Man would go nicely. ;-)
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

I agree with Chopper a vintage figure is a must. I had loads as a kid and picked up my first adult figure a few weeks back.
It has brought back lots of great memories and I can see a new collection on the horizon :duh:

I can feel myself being sucked in to a Palitoy vortex.

There's also a middle point: Remain happy with just these two, but don't leave with empty hands if you find the Palitoy version or the other characters like Knuck, Natalie, Redwolf, Flynt, Prof Gangrene, Tempest, No Face and the X Robots.

Aye, sitting at approx 200 of them at the moment! ;)
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

You're all just weak!! Weak, I tell you!!! I, however, have great restraint... Mind you, I did start out vague, with the "fancy some Action Men". Your problem was setting a limit!!! :-)
