The Palitoy Action Force toys were a smaller version of the successful Action Man range, similar in scale to the highly prolific Star Wars figures. Released in 1982, the first wave of Action Force characters were based on real historical soldiers and toys in that first range included a British Royal Marine and a German Stormtrooper from World War Two. In 1983, a second generation of figures was released.
