Damn, read this too late to follow up on your suggestions ;-)

Well i enjoyed it but i did go in with pretty low expectations. Definitely a Joe and Cobra film.

They blew up London the bastards! And Firefly! Maybe the UK will get pissed and contribute a few of their own anti terrorist team for the next one.

Jon Chu did say to me that Action Man must be pissed that Cobra blew up London.

He is also the proud owner of an Ironblood and Red Shadow now too :)

Just got back from seeing this. It was much, much better than expected. I think it was very comic book-y, and all the action was pretty exciting. I could do with less jerky camera in the fight scenes, but it wasn't so bad. Obviously there are a few niggles that were just left out, but nothing really important, most of the details about the first were skimmed over and not completely ignored.
Really liked the Silent Interlude and tank battle parts.

Spoilers ahead -

I think Duke could still be alive, as well as Zartan. Duke was shown on the floor not blown to bits, even though you didn't see his face. They could use the old coma excuse. Zartan could still be alive due to the nanomites. Firefly on the other hand, got real, real f*cked up. I lol'd at that part. Though I'm sure another guy can step up as the next Firefly.

I gotta give this an 8 out of 10. I couldn't believe how good it was.
I really want to lick Adrienne Palicki now.

Saw it Saturday - Really enjoyted it, but thought Blind Master was a pointless inclusion and poorly cast, and tbh there was no point having Duke in it. Great Ninja battle on the cliffs though

Still not seen it, the wife welched on Sunday so we're seeing it Tuesday now. However I just saw this little news snippet, GI Joe 3 is a go!
http://toynewsi.com/news.php?itemid=20215
It's taken $132,007,000 worldwide so far for a cost of $130,000,000 so it has already made a profit.

Saw it today and really enjoyed it. Way better than the first one but still not a good film, a lot of wasted opportunities and RZA was bloody awful. But I laughed in the right places whereas I laughed at the whole of ROC because it was so bad it was funny.

Still haven't seen it yet, but intend to this weekend or next with my son. I think it's really funny how poorly this movie is doing critically, yet most Joe fans think it's fairly good, even great. Right now, Retaliation has a lower RottenTomatoes score than RoC. Are the critics so cynical that they just can't enjoy a movie about toys? Were they expecting some sort of avant-garde deconstruction of the US industrial military complex and its role in a post 9/11 international community?

I just want to see Cobra blowing stuff up.
